A bicycle is either worth riding, worth stripping for parts or scrap metal. Work out which, pull the battery out of any e-bike or e-scooter, and clear it with the rest of the garage.
Decide whether the bike still rides. A working or repairable bicycle can be sold, donated or passed to a bike shop for parts. A rusted or broken frame is scrap metal and goes with a bulky-item collection. For e-bikes and e-scooters, remove the lithium battery first and send it to battery or e-waste recycling.

The battery is the part that changes the job. Lithium-ion packs should not go into general waste, a building bin room or a mixed bulky load, where they can be crushed or punctured. Most removable packs unlock with the bike key or a latch; integrated batteries may need the maker's instructions or a bike shop to remove them.

Stop charging it, keep it out of the sun and away from anything flammable, and do not try to open or puncture it. Ask an e-waste or battery recycler how they want it delivered before moving it.
Basement bike rooms are where old bikes go to be forgotten. If yours is locked and the key is long gone, speak to security before anyone reaches for bolt cutters—most buildings want proof that the bike is yours, such as a photo of you with it or the purchase receipt. Many also run periodic clear-outs of untagged bikes, so reclaim yours before that notice goes up.
For the lift, turn the handlebars in line with the frame, remove the pedals and drop the saddle. In a villa, bikes usually leave alongside the rest of the garage—old gym equipment, boxes, garden tools—and one collection for the lot beats separate trips.
Some will take a bike for parts, especially if it has good wheels or components, and a few run trade-in offers when you buy a new one. It depends entirely on the shop. Send photos first rather than turning up with a bike they then have to dispose of themselves.
