The awkward part of how to dispose of an old dishwasher in Dubai is not its size. It is the water left in the sump and hoses, plus the fitted connections hidden under the sink or behind the kitchen plinth. Ten minutes of preparation prevents a wet corridor, a damaged cabinet and an argument at handover.
In a rented apartment or villa, a dishwasher listed with the fitted appliances normally stays with the property. Check the tenancy inventory and ask the landlord or property manager before taking it out. If a replacement installer is coming, ask whether the retailer's delivery includes removal of the old unit; many people otherwise pay for two separate visits.
For a machine you own, decide whether it is genuinely reusable. Run a short cycle and note any error code, leak, unusual pump noise or heating failure. A clean unit that completes a cycle and has intact racks is worth listing with its model number and dimensions. Switch the dishwasher off, unplug it where the plug is accessible and close the appliance isolation valve under the sink. Transport it upright whenever possible. Unlike a refrigerator, it does not normally need a long settling period for refrigerant, but the recipient should inspect the hoses, level the feet and run a supervised test cycle after installation to catch leaks early.
Not for an intact machine being collected promptly. Keep the door latched for transport and prevent children from accessing the stored appliance. If it will be dismantled for parts, that work belongs in a controlled workshop rather than a shared corridor or bin room.
